Cayman Code Academy Announces New ‘Cybersecurity’ Courses

Financial Assistance for Code and Cybersecurity Courses Available Now from Cayman Enterprise City.

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (22 September 2020) – The Cayman Code Academy (CCA), a coding school sponsored by Cayman Enterprise City (CEC) and powered by Code Fellows, recently announced new Cybersecurity education programmes. Participants can interact in real-time with a team of leading tech instructors and flexible course schedules allow individuals working full time to register for evening and/or weekend tracks. Professional cybersecurity instructors, many of which work within significant global tech firms including Microsoft and Google, ensure all graduates are fully-equipped for a careers in technology and risk management.

CCA programming, which falls under the Enterprise Cayman workforce development initiatives by CEC, invites Caymanians and residents of all backgrounds to obtain valuable tech education “so that Cayman’s workforce can meet the demands of Cayman’s growing tech industry,” explained Charlie Kirkconnell CEC’s Chief Executive Officer. “As CEC’s special economic zone, Cayman Tech City, grows and job opportunities in tech become increasingly available we want to ensure that Cayman’s workforce has access to globally recognised, professionally led tech education.”

Cybersecurity and code courses offered by CCA range from entry level single day workshops, where individuals can begin without prior experience, to advance professional development level courses, where intensive programming can run up to 20 weeks.

To assist those impacted by COVID-19, CEC has created a need-based financial assistance fund, designed specifically to help support interested Caymanians cover the cost of the CCA tuition. Applicants that can demonstrate a need for financial assistance and the ability to meet the requirements of both Code and Cybersecurity courses are invited to apply.

The upcoming series of Cybersecurity classes are scheduled to begin 3 October 2020. Individuals who are interested in taking part are invited to learn more about scholarship opportunities and what to expect from CCA courses by attending a free information seminar online, which takes place Wednesday, 30 September at 1:00 PM.
