Questions before you get started

How long does setup take, and can I apply remotely?

CEC’s published Tech City guidance gives an indicative four-to-six-week timeframe for eligible businesses, depending on company complexity and completed documentation. The application process can be completed remotely, with CEC guiding the steps toward establishing your operational presence within the zone.

What should I budget for?

Consider company formation, licensing, workspace, permits and any additional professional or technical services. Request a breakdown showing what is included, what is charged separately and which costs recur.
If relocating, also budget for housing, healthcare and any schooling needs.

Can I relocate with my business?

Speak with our Global Mobility Team about your proposed role, who will be moving and your preferred timing. The team can explain the relevant application requirements for you and accompanying family members.

How does this relate to permanent residency?

Ask our Global Mobility Team to explain how the applicable employment and residency permissions differ from permanent residency or citizenship pathways. Bring your longer-term goals into the conversation alongside your immediate business plans.

What about customer contracts and data requirements?
